Youngest German side for 76 years, many of whom won the U21 tournament against england

how many of our team from that have stepped up?

This is the issue we need to address, young players hitting ceilings at big clubs where places are taken by foreign players. Players who are given the chance to develop, and then leave for leagues abroad after settling in their national sides.

England need to stop trying to win the 'next' championship with, essesntially, the same players that failed in the previous one.

Write off teh next 2, aim for the Euro's in 2016, assemble a squad now of promising players 18-23 or so and play them together for 6 years.
Keep one or 2 old heads around maybe, the odd change here or there as players develop too.
England need to write this lot off, start again, take the pressure off (as has been done for Germany) and get a group of players that have 6 years to develop as a team.

We might do something then.
