Joe Cole on the left (what I would do) and Plan B are two entirely different

subjects.

By saying he has a plan B, I mean he is capable of adapting or changing tactics to combat a successful adjustment by the other team. And perhaps even a plan C.

That's a step up from McClaren, who never had a Plan B, and Sven, who often had a Plan B but it was always the same one and involved a fair amount of hoofball which ultimately failed. He had no Plan C. Ever.
