Without wanting to rekindle the veg-off

I really don't understand that

I have the skull mount (couldn't afford the head) of the first stage I ever shot. I was 18. It has huge sentimental value to me as a trophy and a memento. I have the head of a magnificent stag shot by my grandfather. I love it, because of the sentimental associations and because it is beautiful.

People have been making sporting trophies ever since taxidermy was invented! And in fact long before then (go back to the ancient Greeks and Romans - they kept skins of particularly good beasts they had killed, like boar or bear or lion).

If you hunt, then the trophies are a really nice part of it
