can't see that the rules haven't changed at all

if the ball goes completely over the line its a goal.
The fact that they have a little bit of technology to help judge that is irrelevant. Its no different than having professional officials in the pros and each side's subs acting as linesmen on the parks - you get different standards of judging (you'd think anyway!) but the actual rules are the same in each case.
