That therefore means that any purchase / new contract of a player is a gamble (which in

the literal sense of the word it is). If that is the case then we should continue to 'gamble' to be successful. However as you alluded to there are calculated gambles, and these are likely to prove more successful than uncalculated ones.

Like I said, I've given this all I've got but essentially we all want the same thing ultimately. There will always be difference of opinion on the best strategy to achieve that goal.
