The fact is I've pretty much always found myself thinking "what a bunch of c**ts" whenever I've had xfactor on my tv. I watched a bit of the final this year as I was round someones house who loves it, and maybe about 15 minutes of the rest of the series. I haven't even heard of 3 of the last 5 winners I discovered today when offered their singles by amazon.
I won't pass judgement on what others do for light entertainment however. Each to their own. There is a STRONG argument that suggests people who obsess over sports are equally stupid. A bunch of people they don't know running around after a ball and they get so passionate about it they go into a rage when a team loses and are often seen crying? What's that about? We sit listening to a radio to hear a man describe the action ffs.
It's just a way to pass the time by being involved in something that interests you. X Factor gives people a chance to see nobodies trying to become a pop star and at the same time has music and songs that they like - don't see the major problem myself.
