Creosote....

I want to ask you something if thats ok. But before I do I just want to say that much of what I am saying on this site is me trying to suss things out and formulate my own views so I am aware that some of my arguments are not entirely sound so I would appreciate if people would realise that because I know I am sometimes saying things which could be open to abuse. I'm not trying to start arguments I'm trying towork out my own opinion. Anyway to my point, I'd like to quote you...

"1. Transfer policy. I've been watching City for longer than you, but I bet you know just as well as me that signing new players is a hit and miss affair. We can all think of signings that looked great on paper - but didn't work out. And the reason is simple - you simply don't know how a player will fit in with the new environment, with his new team-mates. Much better, and almost certainly cheaper, to retain the services of players who have done a good job for us, or to develop players through the Academy system whose characters are known, and who know the ethos of the club."

If this applies to players, why not also to a manager? I have used the same logic you have used here to reach the opposite conclusion to you. You just can't know how a new manager would fit in so as you say, surely better to retain the services of someone who has done well for us? And if not then surely we were right to get rid of many of the players that Worthington has been criticised for letting go? Are you saying in this quote that we should give Foley or Livermore the job?

I'm not having a dig or looking for a row, I'm just confused by this whole thing.
