Hello Suggs

French is hard work, but it is a enjoyable challenge to improve. I'm still s**t, but I keep trying, the French certainly appreciate the effort on our part.

Michel Thomas, yep, did that and it was beneficial. but he does not really teach french, he teaches a way to get by in french - which is fine, but as you say does not cover past tense, etc etc.

I do recommend the BBC language website. they do stuff like making learning fun with little webgames and stuff, and make it topical too, so presently you can learn the vocab around the tour de france! not sure how important the word saddle is, but there you go.

They also back this up with some A grade television programs which they show at 4pm in the morning.

I have the complete series of "MA France" on AVI (24 10 minute shows?) which you are welcome to, and after each lesson there is some online activities on the website to check your progress. Its all free, its the Beeb. Do you use torrent software? I have an invite for the www.theBox.bz?

I did take a couple of months of intensive classes a while back which really helped me get an understanding of the structure of the language, but I guess that is not really an option for you if you work. would recommend that though.

so, bloody hard work, good luck, let me know if i can help.

oh, and watch them french people, they are a bit weird.
