that's where you go for the card and upside-down jar (altho by the sound of things you'd have needed a pretty big jar / other glass receptacle). Once you've snared the monster (and when they're big they don't move too much in my experience) then you can innocently find mrs lovechild to show her the miracle of nature you've hunted down. Always good fun.
