Worthy ONLY tried it once we were through that tough spell of games against Sheff U, West Ham, WBA, West Brom & Ipswich and had a run of games against bottom half teams. He clearly reckoned playing only 3 proper midfielders against decent teams was a bit risky. The only good teams we played with the 3-up-front tactics that year were Wigan (H), Palace (A) & Sunderland (A). And we lost 2 of those 3 games. The main reason we started winning once we tried it was because at that stage we were playing crap teams. As a tactic it will ALWAYS leave us vulnerable defensively, as we discovered last year. Its a gamble, basically, but justified because we don't have the right players to play a proper formation
