the other trouble is that

loan strikers, to a huge extent, are a big risk.

They are not playing for their clubs because they have been injured or dropped or are out of form - and our expectations should be modified accordingly.

Hucks, Lita & Crouch are the only exceptions I can think of; Lisbie, Johanssen, Hartson, Lupoli, Sibierski & Rigters fit the theory.

Or they are kids are who knows how it will pan out (c.f. Evans, Koroma)
