ended up getting a Samsung 37" LCD Full HD with built in Freeview for about ?600-?650, (unfortunately the place i got it from has now gone bust else i would've said try there as i got a really price on it)

one of the more important things is to make sure it also gives a good picture on SD as even if you do have Sky HD most stuff is still broadcast in SD and apparently a number of HD tellys struggle with SD pictures
