Post of the season

And I'll add a couple of things:-

Peter Grant is almost universally vilified, yet in his first season he did what he was appointed to do - keep a very poor team in the league. Almost every fan which met him spoke of how impressed they were at his enthusiasm, attitude and openness, and he did a LOT of things which needed to be done to reshape the team. He could even claim to have been rather unlucky.

Glenn Roeder also did what he was appointed to do in his first season - keep a very poor team in the league.

What would the reaction have been on here if, instead of handing them every penny they could lay their hands on to continue their work and build the team, the board had said "Sorry, we think you're s**t and we're not going to give you a brass razoo."?

Exactly.
