In my younger days I was also a bit partial to a bit of Goth - but only a bit ... Early Sisters of Mercy (eg. Alice, Floorshow, etc. and a great cover of Hot Chocolate's Emily) was really good stuff & stands the test of time. Southern Death Cult are also worth mentioning before they became standard pomp-rockers, The Cult. And Play Dead also had a few good tunes before disappearing from sight. That is about it though - everything else was s**t - even Killing Joke who went a bit Goth (& their early stuff, pre-Goth, is great too).
Agree with RWLC regarding personal safety - it wasn't often that a Goth/Indie night would turn into a mass brawl; but it was more or less inevitable at Cinderellas - at least in Lincoln ...
