I unintentionally went to a goth night in Brighton last year, it was unmitigating agony.

Five of us turned up, all wearing non-black clothing. Bouncer goes, "You know what night it is, don't you?" I resisted the urge to say "Tuesday" and he pointed out that it was "Goth, Rock and Alternative Night". Which, as we all know (given that goths think they're the most radically "alt" subculture, when they're as conformist as Kevs), means "Goth night".

My mate said "Oh, it won't be that bad" and the first person we see is that girl dressed all in black, with black make-up, and black hair with black highlights. One of the worst nights of my life.
