Of course it has

Have you not read any of the endless stuff printed over the last fortnight about the impact of Hillsborough? Of course football has become more middle-class; that was inevitable with the advent of all-seater stadiums and a clampdown on hooliganism.

We are not exempt from this social phenomenon and our fanbase has therefore inevitably changed. More yuppies, more women, more children.

It's good in all ways, IMHO, except that it has reduced the atmosphere in the ground. I would like to see SAFE standing areas introduced where noisy people can gather (but with numbers strictly controlled to avoid crushing issues).
