It's psychological

The players were probably of the mind that this game wasn't a MUST win game. The last few have been, and you saw the response. As the pressure seemed to be off today (pulled out of the bottom 3, a two week break in this position meant the urgency had been lost etc), hence the players put in a lacklustre affair. It happens. Hopefully the shock of this result will fire them all back up again.
