the crux is that we're always looking for some *one* to blame

and it's just all part of a bigger mess. Money for new striker, yes or no, money spent on wrong striker, yes or no, money spent on loans because perceived better value for money than buying poor striker, yes or no, on and on etc and so forth, repeat til bored.
