Funniest thing I have read today. No mention of the distinct possibility that you singularly failed to either understand the syllabus or complete the amount of hard work required to actually pass the exam. Blame the teacher is a good out, isn't it, but in the real world you will soon be found out if your slopey shoulders are that prominent.
Finally, in a recent TV programme current students were taught and examined to a 1950s standard. They failed miserably to come anywhere near the expected standards in any subject. So to actually get a U in a subject today probably indicates that, unlike 50 years ago, the weeding out of potentially weak candidates is virtually non-existent, sadly.
