It comes back to the basics

I have nothing against loans as such, but we should only bring in a loan player if they are significantly better than the existing incumbent, or for a position where there is no incumbent and a loan player represents a better option than any permanent candidates. Koroma, Archibald-Henville, many others haven't fallen into either of these categories. (I fear Killen fits into this category as well). And the cover argument doesn't work for me: it's so flipping easy to bring in a loan, - see Shackell, so we don't need to keep a spare in place jic.
