What's happened is that the board have gone with the easy option.

If you're confident with Gunn, give him a contract beyond the end of the season. This is dippy toe stuff. Well let's see how it works out...

Not exactly a confident appointment. You don't have to agree with me but what you do have to do is wonder why we're appointing a beloved Canary who is shy of managerial experience.
