He spent virtually nothing in the 2002-2003 season, and only finished with 6 points less

than the season before. Basically, the 2002-2003 season kept up some momentum, and proved to the board that with some extra investment, Worthington would most likely be able to get the team up.

So he earned their trust, pulled off a real coup in signing Huckerby and Crouch (remember how Crouch was a bit of a joke figure at that point?) and we were on our way. Good times!
