I've seen plenty of people have it treated

with a single electric shock, called a cardioversion. You are connected to a defibrillator which gives a small shock at a specific time in your heart beat.

Don't worry, you'll be under anaesthetic and it will happen in an instant. And you'll be awake again in 3 minutes max
