albania is fiercely pro USA following Bill Clintons intervention in Kosovo via NATO bombing Serbia the f**k out. Macedonia has a large Albanian population and also is getting some hefty portions of US trade assistance (both Macedonia and Kosovo now offer a measly 10% business taxation rate which is unusual in the region).

The stars and stripes (and to a lesser extent the Union flag) are often proudly displayed on posters extolling the US and UK. The main street in Pristina is called Bill Clinton Boulevard (I have yet to locate Monika Lewinskys back passage btw).
