Surely the short point is

(a) blinders went off on one saying how it wasn't necessarily Derbyt who were being investigated, since the Carroll incident was a stupid way to try to influence the result; (b) it turns out that the "unusual betting patterns" were on Norwich winning; (c) therefore it IS likely (though not certain) that it is being Derby being investigated; and (d) that presumably means the Carroll incident since there is nothing else to investigate.

Meanwhile, blinders is blubbing, red in the face, snot trickling out of both nostrils. Marvellous.
