I doubt that actually

Basic message to Spurs is - if we have to pay his wages, then he stays here and plays no football for an entire season.

If they want him to actually progress this season - by playing a bit at some level - they need to pay at least some of his wages.

I very much doubt they'd want him going a year without playing. Which he certainly will if he stays here, given Roeder's decision today.

That was one stinking loan decision.
