The game is short-term now I think the players get quite used to a certain amount of

turnover in personnel throughout the season. I think it effects the fans more as they want heroes to support a team that they can identify with...with so many changes to teams now its hard to feel part of it, also the huge wages of the players exacerbate this effect.
