A Good Midfielder Has To Want The Ball...

Needs to be there, in position, ready to take it and either use it, or pass to someone who can do something creative with it-as I wrote earlier, like Sean Derry did for Leeds yesterday.

That needs confidence in not only their opwn ability, but the defence need to have the confidence in that player to trust them with the ball, when, at least, if they are "hoofing" it away, the pressure is off, and it might end in a attempt on goal-hence Saturday.

With respect to Charlton, they might not have had that confidence in him, maybe he didn't either, whilst Hughes is new to the club, his team mates, and the way we play. Which may account for the lack of full on, midfield action.
