The Academy has produced
Shackell and Lewis, and that's it. That last crop of decent players - Kenton, Forbes, Russell, Green, were all products of the pre-Academy youth set up. We couldn't bring them in. And that's always been the problem - the area we can recruit from produces very few footballers and that was pointed up before the Academy even started. And don't forget - if we had got planning permission we'd have had Cooper's (the man from Sainsburys) vastly more expensive academy at Colney.
