Seriously, what's the point?

How often do you reckon a news story breaks that you don't know about around the same sort of time as those subscribed to the pay services?

Let's be honest, chances are you'll be either:

a) checking a City site (be it this or another) and seeing the story come up

or

b) getting a text / call from someone who is checking a City site and thinks you'd be interested in the news (if it's that important).

Don't understand how these pay alert services have continued for football clubs with information so easily accessible and seemingly instantly updated.
