its reasonable to say that if he threw his hat into the ring for any other managerial position that came up from one of these noveau riche Championship clubs with sugar daddies, he would be in with a fair chance of getting the job based on his reputation, contacts and experience.
Rather than settle for a cash strapped potential league one club. He must have seen something at that club that would have encouraged him to believe that he could rebuild the squad and mount a serious challenge in the Premiership.
