Look at it like this

The editorial positions are elected three times in the academic year. I became editor at the beginning of this term (summer term) and we are now in the final term of the year.

The budget was set at the beginning of the year and someone didn't stick to it. That person wasn't me. Considering I was elected into this position four weeks ago, it is unfair to place blame on me.

It's not only my co-editor and I that are tasked with finding income, the managing editors have to as well because it is their job.
