Then there’s the second year parachute clubs who can’t afford the silly money of the desperate just relegated clubs. Watford need to get Ellington off their books who goes to Derby on a stupid money deal no doubt.

Then there the “Fools and their Money” clubs, the nouveau-riche, with a few quid to splash around. The Scum and QPR fall into this category, hoovering up the players needing one last pay-day. Idiots such as Dowie and Mad Madge with blank cheque books chasing round after Shola Ameobi, sums them up.

Then there’s the rest, competing for the scraps, loans and bargains after the monied clubs have had their choice. That’s where we are
