I went to school with a kid whose surname was Heppenstall though - think he was in my brother's year actually (year younger).

Funnily enough the Virgin Suicides was on Scando TV a few weeks ago, but I only caught the last half an hour - didn't seem too bad.

Just thought of another book "A Disaffection" by James Kelman - about a depressive 30-something teacher in Glasgow. Frankly one cannot beat a book that ends with "Fuck Off; Oh, f**k off"
