I agree entirely that an annoucement prior to QPR was likely to be to the detriment of the support given during that game, and too much of a risk.

However, it could of been done prior to Sheff Wed, to allow hucks to play knowing it was his final game (though he probably hada decent idea).
To allow those their the chance to idolise him more than Dion (thought most again had a decent idea).
I also feel they could of done something prior to the lap of thanks af QPR, to let the fans know he was off, and really give it our all for him.

Maybe the decision wasn't made, made Roeder did decent following Sheff wed, in which case fine.
