Crossroads

The club, the team, the fans - they all face there own particular crossroads over the next few weeks.

52 points should be enough to keep us up but after today's results it is getting awfully tight. I could point to any number of issues with today's match. Our lack of goal threat has been an ever present factor since day one and I am not just talking about the strikers. The ref today was beyond awful. Ultimately though, WBA were better than us and deserved the points.

Looking at West Brom reminds us what could have been if we had anything like a decent board. They went up and went down with us but have invested in the squad and moved their club forward. We have witnessed the slow but inexorable decline of a club with the best fanbase in this league and a good number in the Prem.

If we go down, it will be because we deserve to. The board, the players, the management will all have to take their share of the blame. The only people who will be able to hold their heads up will be the fans. They have put up a with a lot pretty much since we were promoted but they have always turned out in numbers. For that, they should be saluted.

At the end of the day, we have turned out to be a pretty poor team in what is a pretty poor league. I suppose that tell's its own story.
