it was........

my HP hose from first stage (mares) to suunto triple console.........

this was actually the first of my 5 Sports Diver open water dives, so had a buddy to play my victim (had to do CBL from 15mtrs, rescue breathes and 50 mtr tow, then get him clear of water, drop kit and then CPR) - so luckily not only had this Dive Leader (bsac) and Dive Master (padi) grarded mate playing the victim, but an Advanced Instructor over seeing it.......

all did surface buddy checks, all ok, entrace and decent, bubble checks at 6 mtrs showed small bubbles coming from top of my HP hose but nothing significant.... but constant monitoring and by time we got to 12mtrs the entire length of hose seemd perferated! when a HP hose goes, its not one big hole and "whoosh!" its like millions of micro bubbles along entire length of hose......like perferations in a tea bag along whole length and entire hose "fizzing!"

had to abort dive, run to shop, plead the techy there swap my hose for another, cost £17, changed it for free, and carried on......

the hose was only a year old, but who knows what the shelf life had been........
