So, EU referendum anyone?

Personally I think its a bad idea.
I'm not convinced by its merits myself, but I shudder at thought of millions of Brits deciding this issue based on nothing other than "keep the pound" and "straight bananas".
Do most of the general public really know enough about this treaty (and i'll happily put myself in that bracket) to make an INFORMED decision?
