Tis not neither

Apart from there being other fish in the sea, which is true but is the hackneyed cliche of every spurned attempt to make a pick up in a night club.

The first point is silly. If you think you have spotted a good player - good enough to be holding down a first team place in a lower-middle-ranking Prem team - whose talents are unappreciated by his current employers, so that you can get him for a relative bargain price, then haggling over the fee to make it even MORE of a bargain, relying upon the continuing stupidity of the employers, is just foolish.

If you see a Ming vase in a junk shop for £1,000, you don't spend a month trying to get the bloke down to £750, thus risking him suddenly appreciating what he's got. You buy it.
