Didn't strike me as harsh at all

It is funny that the Guardian got so stroppy about it that they started defending themselves in the Fiver, of all places.

But harsh? That some 19-year-old who's having his gap year travels subsidised by the Guardian, simply because of who his dad is, got a kicking for it?

Hardly. I can imagine if it was, say, the Telegraph, then Old Git and the like getting worked up about all these class warriors with chips on their shoulders.

But the Guardian is always banging on about the lack of class mobility etc in the UK. And they're getting arsey about being caught at this kind of nepotism?

Hypocritical blubbing worthy of the wrath.
