It's hard to say if he really was PG's man

Or if he was just has the hump at the abruptness of Roeder's changes - there's little doubt Roeder went through the lot of them with both barrels after the Plymouth game. Somehow you get the impression that our Glenn isn't one to sugarcoat things!

Grant came across as either a love-or-hate character. Probably talking out of my arse, but I think he was the sort to expect 100% blood and thunder, much the same as he was as Celtic captain - the sort who inspires by scaring his players more than the opposition, and loves anyone who looks like they're similarly committed to the cause. Football has changed since then, and that's not an approach to go down well your average modern player!

Roeder also has similarly high standards, but I think he's learned to appeal to a more diverse range of characters - there's those who need a cuddle, and those who need a boot up the arse. But when it comes to those who he doesn't rate, he's been absolutely ruthless in bouncing them out of the club, which is probably a decent-sized blow to some egos.
