The Qualifications Curriculum Authority and fit into the Qualifications Credit Framework, which is the highest authority for alowing people to accredit qualifications, which should alay some fears of 'rubber-stamping'.

As for who is leading the agenda..well, in this instance, I think it is the government. These reforms are so wide ranging that business involvement is just a small part of it.

Remember, it's not just McDonalds..National Rail and Flybe are just a couple of the companies involved, and their specialist areas do have relevance to courses within the first two sets being released.

The first 5 Diplomas are:

construction & the built environment,
creative & media,
engineering,
information technology, and
society, health and development.

The second group comprises:

land-based studies;
hair & beauty studies;
business administration & finance;
manufacturing and product design; and
hospitality and catering.
