Insurance question....

Having discussion at work regarding insurance. If my house and car keys were stolen from my office and the thief then went back to my flat, let themselves in and stole things from the flat. Would I be insured? Bloke at work reckons because it isn't forced entry that my home insurance would be void, I'm not convinced.
