and yes they do deserve it. but then you'd get w**kers saying that the BBC aren't giving viewers value for their license fee because they're not giving the most number of viewers what they want to see.

what gets me is that the same people who say that the BBC should be wasting 'our' money on the populist dross like "Celebrity Strictly Come Fake Singers Academy" are often the same people complaining that the BBC are wasting 'our' money on the elitest crap on BBC 4 that get viewing figures in single digits
