Visit their forums, look at the Top Tens, and read complaints/reviews ...
Basically, any large ISP isn't worth going with unless they come in a free package (like Sky and Orange).
Also get one with a 1 month contract, rather than some "deals" (free router and stuff) that require 12 month (or longer) contracts - as they won't let you leave without paying up.
Some people have been known to pay early just to get out of Tiscali and the like...
If you are with someone who goes down the s**tter, you can leave within a month. Good stuff.
