Absolutely-Put A Creative Midfielder Alongside Rusty...

...and we may have something.

I thought Fozzy was the proverbial whippet-like midfielder, a poor mans Liam Brady, or even a Pat Nevin, but no, he's like Rusty but with a few more tricks up his sleeve. Don't think they work together and, in that case, at the moment, would have Fozzy in that snarling dog role.

Thought Smith might be the creative midfielder in that case, bit of guile, good going forward, some passing ability and vision. And maybe he has, but he hasn't been given that opportunity yet, and, why he gets in on the right ahead of Croft is a puzzle to me.

Glenn speaks in the Pink Un of not picking players if they can't last a game or won't, a'la Fozzy at the moment, and maybe thats his thinking re.Croft?

Maybe a Hucks-Fozzy-Smith-Croft quartet would do the trick given time, it certainly shows balance, pace, energy and no little talent-but then where does that leave Pattison?

Play Pattison on the left and the balance is gone, however, the suicidal gaps on that side are then not so apparant.

Lots of questions, and, to be fair, problems Glenn would far rather have than the old issues of players picking themselves and square pegs/round holes all round.

As far as attacking midfield players is concerned, maybe we've never really replaced the nemesis of one Mr David Lee, Damien Francis?

And as for creative midfielders, well, NOW you're going back a long way-anyone since Chippy?
