I think your workplace sounds like political correctness gone mad. Is there regular book burning outside your office of any books that offend people in the social service department? That's the natural progression of political correctness. Taken to its extremes, it is the hanging of people who have the audacity to think differently to the political correct mindset which is thought of as the social norm (when it isn't necessarily).

It's like last night on ITV, I had to turn off some debate about renaming Christmas as Winterville as no one could say what they were really thinking in case they upset someone!
