I haven't read anywhere that he "resisted arrest"; although it's

clear that he legged it. But since it appears his only connection with last Thursdays terrorists was to live in a block of flats that were under surveillance, it could be for any number of understandable reasons.

I don't want to live in a country where we're scanned & searched whenever we go into shopping centre or onto public transport - it's bad enough at the airport - even worse in the US where everyone is apparently under suspicion upon entering the country. That's not freedom to me & plays into the terrorists hands. Maybe if our leaders put themselves in the firing line the rest of us would be a safer - after all it's their actions that are used as justification by the terrorists.
