people will always want to read about/hear from the country's leading players. The media will thus want interviews etc with them. To ensure this media will be keen to keep on their good side by praising and hyping them to the hilt. Loads of the general public will believe media bullsh*t. Andy Gray is a leading culprit here, hyping his Sky product (because they made football great of course)
