however, things like the 1 million refurbishment of the convention facilities - or whatever it was, sounded very Chase-esque, and at the detriment of the playing side could prove ultimatly more costly should we hire an idiot and get relegated.

Many Many season tickets will hang on who is hired. Make an unpopular choice and season ticket sales will be well down, even if we stay up.
